マルコがスクアードに飛びかかる。そこでスクアードが理由を説明。
この戦争中に赤犬がスクアードに接触していて、センゴクと白髭がある協定をしている。
それはエースと白髭海賊団は殺さない。そのかわり新世界の海賊達は全滅させる。
という内容。スクアードは昔ロジャーに自分の海賊団をつぶされていた。
それを知っていた海軍はスクアードなら海軍の作戦に乗ってくると予想する。
なおかつエースはロジャーの息子ということも明らかになった。
センゴクはこのためにエースとロジャーの関係を明らかにしたのだろう。
そして今回のスクアードの暴挙。実際クマ軍団は新世界の海賊にしか攻撃していなかった。
全てを知った白髭「それでも全員俺の息子だ！」みたいな事を言う。
マルコは仲間から受けた一撃とはいえ、
まともに食らった白髭を見てだいぶ衰えた事を確信する。
それを察知した白髭が「いつまでも最強じゃあいられねー。人間一つ心臓一つ。
」そして今回の汚い海軍の作戦に白髭が怒り爆発。
センゴクも覚悟を決めた感じ。再び戦闘開始。終

The following script is cleaned up and text reshuffled to be more coherent.
Chapter 563: One man, One heart
Marco rushes to Squad. Squad explains his actions.
During this war, Akainu contacted Squad, and told him that Whitebeard and Sengoku made a deal, that they won’t kill Ace and the Whitebeard pirates in exchange for wiping out the New World pirates. (meaning, to offer them as sacrifice of war)
Squad’s pirate crew was wiped out in the past by Roger.
Marines knew that, and that’s why they contacted Squad, thinking that they’ll be able to use him for their scheme.
Sengoku most likely revealed about Ace being Roger’s son publically for this intent.
And as if to prove all this, the PXs were only attacking the New World pirates.
(into making Squad believe the marines’ words)
Whitebeard realized everything that just took place.
“Even then, you are all still my sons!” He exclaims.
Marco sees how Whitebeard took the blow directly, and realizes how weakened Whitebeard had become since his prime.
Whitebeard responds to him by saying “You can’t be the most powerful man forever. There’s only one heart for every man.”
Whitebeard is enraged at the marines’ dirty schemes.
The war resumes, and Sengoku gets ready.
Trivia: The Blackbeard pirates is a significantly powerful pirate crew, led by Marshall D. Teach, better known as “Blackbeard”. The sniper, Van Auger the “Supersonic”, has incredible eyesight and speed. The helmsman, Jesus Burgess the “Champion”, is a wrestling champion. Lafitte, the navigator and a former policeman, has very stealthy movements. The doctor, Doc Q the “Shinigami”, and his horse Stronger have yet to show any abilities. The newest member, “Shiryuu of the Rain”, is a powerful swordsman.

The sickle are thrown at him, whom catches it and throws it back at the puppet, lodging it into it.

There’s a note on the puppet’s forehead with the kanji for ‘curse’. The kanji disappears.
Ao: “?!”
Puppet: “What is going on? How can you see my body?!”
Ao: “The mind-puppet switch curse seal technique… That’s the name of this jutsu.”
Puppet: “Damn it! Is this a mind-switch that curses whoever attacks you?!”(Unsure)
The puppet is actually Fuu.
Looks like the mind of the puppet switched places.

Torune is carrying Fuu’s human body over his shoulder.
Danzou: “I’ll tell you what my intentions are as soon as Fuu returns to his body.”

Mifune: “I have no doubt that now that he knows Hachibi is alive, he’s going be more composed than before. What I said earlier was me jumping to conclusions. Please forgive me. Then he slowly turns towards DoFlamingo, and glares.

So WW punches her in the face. As he tries it again Kensei stops it.

WW: “Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh…?”

Kensei: “Sorry, but I’m not the kind of adult who makes allowances for kids…!”

Stark says that the victory in this fight is already decided, but if they just go and run for it, he’ll spare them and leave them be.

Love who already lost his sunglasses by this time says, “Don’t underestimate us!”, and retaliates.

Starks standing on top of a telephone pole says that he doesn’t enjoy finishing his opponent off, but in this case he’s going to have to do it. And in this moment he gets stubbed from behind. The end.

Because the picture is blackened it’s hard to say definitely, but the sword seems kinda too big. Also Stark got pierced below his hollow hole, so I don’t think Stark could pull a Nnoitra on us [TN: meaning that even when Nnoitra got stubbed right into his left eye in his fight with Kenpachi, he took no damage due to his hollow hole being there]

Raiga Bomb!!” (*The spoiler writer comments that this technique takes up over 2 pages, possibly because Kishimoto wants to show just how powerful it is) —-Translator comment: I think the Raiga Bomb is supposed to be a wrestling move similar to a Power Bomb where you pick your opponent up and slam him body/head first into the ground

*As Sasuke gets slammed to the ground the bones from what looks like Susanoo (the technique Itachi used) protect Sasuke from the fall, helping Sasuke to get out of his predicament

Raikage, noticing that Sasuke’s eyes are now Mangekyou Sharingan withdraws and raises his Chakra levels even more

Karin – What chakra…this is a bijuu amount of chakra.

The bone-like shape is drifting around Sasuke. Then a large amount of blood comes from Sasuke’s eyes as he uses Amaterasu!

*Scene changes to Naruto

*Continuing the conversation with Madara. Madara says that Naruto won’t be able to talk sense into Sasuke the same way he did Nagato.

Kakashi – Why are you collecting the bijuu in order to exact your revenge as an Uchiha?

Madara – To put it simply, in order to be complete (*in order to reach my/it/something’s complete form*).

Sasuke attacks Raikage with Amaterasu, but is easily avoided by Raikage, moving with speeds higher than the shunshin no jutsu. Sasuke, not even being able to keep up with the Raikage with his Sharingan, goes on the defensive. Sasuke uses the bones of the incomplete Susanou to act as a barrier around him, though it seems as though he cannot attack through the bones with Amaterasu…

*Then Raikage hits Sasuke with a furious Backhand Chop

Darui – Way to give it to him with your left arm, Raikage-sama!! (*Could imply that Raikage is not messing around when he hits with his left arm)

Sasuke goes flying and is on the ground when Raikage tells him that this is the end and then leaps into the air…

Winry stumbles upon Ed and Al's fight with Scar.

Summary:

Ran Fan is seriously wounded by Wrath's first attack, forcing Ling to carry her and fend off of homunculi by themselves. The two are knocked into a building by Gluttony, and inside Ran Fan let off a flash-bang to allow she and Ling to escape, but unfortunately Wrath is still able to see due to his eye patch.

Not the right time to make funny faces, don't you think?

Meanwhile, Winry pays a visit to Maes' grave with Gracia and Elicia. Afterwards, Winry walks on the streets and hears words of the Elrics fighting against Scar. Winry becomes worried about the brothers and decides to go find them, and the battle isn't hard to locate due to the constant explosions. In the back alley war zone, the Elrics and Scar continue to battle. The Elrics are waiting for Ling's signal which still hasn't come, and Ed is getting tired so the Elrics call time out and decide to talk to Scar instead. After a discussion about the use of alchemy, Ed confronts Scar about killing Winry's parents, and unfortunately Winry just happened to have arrived in the alley. Shocked by the revelation, Winry picks a pistol dropped by a soldier and points it at Scar, and Scar decides it's a good time to explain how he came to be.

Why doesn't the military cordon off the area to keep civilians out?

Scar may not have his arm of destruction back then, but he already had the moves.

It was during the Ishvalan War and the Amestrian military was approaching Scar's town. Scar's older brother was developing alchemy that's a fusion of Amestrian and Xingese styles, and some Ishvalans thought it'll be enough to counter the State Alchemists. The military and State Alchemists began their attack on the town and slaughtered many Ishvalans. Scar, as a warrior priest, fought off some soldiers and tried to get his family to safety, and before leaving Scar was entrusted with his brother's research. Unfortunately, Scar and his family were discovered by the Crimson Alchemist Kimblee. Kimblee proceeded to blow up Scar and his family, leaving only Scar and his older brother alive. Scar lost his right arm, and in a last ditch effort Scar's brother grafted his own right arm on to Scar using the alchemy he developed.

It's still your arm. Someone just tattooed you when you were asleep.

The seriously injured Scar was brought to the clinic run by the Rockbells. Upon regaining consciousness, Scar is shocked that he has his brother's right arm and became crazed. In his rage, Scar killed the Rockbells, wandered off, and fell into despair after seeing what's left of his town.

Good to see Ed fighting for his gal.

Back to the present, the Elrics are telling Winry to put down the gun. Scar tells Winry that she has the right to shoot him, but warns that she becomes an enemy the moment she pulls the trigger. Seeing that Winry's unable to shoot, Scar attacks Ed, who flips over Scar and puts himself between Scar and Winry. Scar goes after Ed but stops when Ed reminds him of his brother during the attack by Kimblee. Scar is then chased off by Al, leaving Ed alone with Winry. After taking the gun from Winry, Ed states that Winry's hands were made to give life, not to take them, and subsequently Winry cries in Ed's arms.

A rare EdxWinry moment. Enjoy it while it lasts.

This was a captivating episode. There was a very good mix of action and emotional drama. The fight between the Xingese and the homunculi only took up the beginning of the episode, but the action pretty intense and ends with Ling and Ran Fan being in a whole lot of trouble. The main focus of this episode is of course the confrontation between Winry and Scar. Scar killing the Rockbells was still a senseless murder with hatred being directed at the wrong people, but with the flashback we at least understand where Scar was coming from. In a short span of time, Scar lost his family and his town, and somehow he has his brother's right arm. Those kinds of traumatic events tend to make people nuts.

As for Winry, her reaction to the new feels very genuine. On the one hand, she hates Scar for killing her parents, but at the same time she's just a normal teenage girl who has never seen combat. In not being able to pull the trigger, Winry maintains her status as an innocent character and as someone that Ed and Al need to protect. The whole sequence leads to a nice emotional moment between Ed and Winry at the end, and I liked how the scene transitions perfectly into the ED song.

There won't be nearly as much emotional content in the next episode, but the action will still be riding high for the Elrics vs. Scar and Xingese vs. Homunculi.

Bleach 372 Review Love vs. Stark.

Who would have thought that a giant cactus would be such an effective weapon.
(referring to Love's giant club)

Summary:

Rose and Love extract themselves from the rubble and Love notes that Stark might be fighting to avenge Barragan. Regardless of whether Stark cares about Barragan or not, Love decides to make the first move and attacks Stark with his zanpukto Tengumaru (a giant spiked club in shikai I presume). Stark fires his pistol at the club but it doesn't work, and Love smashes Stark into the ground. Stark decides to take a break and lie there for a while but Lilinette (his pistols) eventually convinces him to keep fighting. Stark rises up again to battle Love, but Love puts on his hollow-mask and unleashes an explosive smash that destroys several buildings. After the attack, Love wonders where Stark went, and Rose notices that Stark is hovering in the air with a large pack of wolf-like creatures behind him.

If I remember correctly, Rose and Love wasn't buried or lying on the ground at the end of last chapter, so what's up with the beginning of this chapter. Continuation problems? Anyways, this week was a typical Bleach action chapter, so it's just preliminaries exchanges between Stark and Love. Rose hasn't even entered the fight yet. I was expecting Stark to pull some crazy pistol tricks but he just called up a bunch of wolves from nowhere. Next chapter will probably be Rose and Love trying to get rid of the wolves and hopefully they'll reveal their bankais (assuming the giant spiked club is not Love's bankai).

From the looks of his mask and weapon, Love is supposed to be an oni. I wonder what Rose is supposed to be with his horse mask lol.

Among the chaos, Coby and Helmeppo (remember these guys?) try to run away from the battle, but they spot Admiral Akainu stopping another Marine from abandoning his post. Whitebeard and allies have broken through the bay at two points, but Sengoku has a plan which includes executing Ace regardless of what happens. On the execution platform, Garp sits with Ace and Sengoku and wonders what he should do. Suddenly, a ship appears overhead and falling with the ship are Luffy and the other escapees from Impel Down.

Our hero finally shows up to the party and makes quite an entrance too! I wonder how Luffy and company managed to make battleship fly, but I'm sure it'll be revealed in the next few chapters. Now that Luffy and company are joining the battle, a couple of things are probably going to happen. Crocodile will probably join the bad guys and go after Whitebeard, and this may cause Ivankov to reveal Crocodile's secret. As for Luffy, my prediction is that he won't give much of damn about the battle at first and just try to rescue Ace, but the admirals and some of the Shichibukai will try to stop him. Hancock will definitely help Luffy, and Kuma might try something funny as well. Actually, it's probably pointless to make predictions. There are just so many powerful characters packed into the same place now that anything can happen.

Minor complaint: it's weird how page 6 suddenly transitioned from Whitebeard to some island farm where livestock are running away (because of Whitebeard's earthquakes). I didn't know what was going on at first and took a few seconds to make the connection. I guess I must be slow.

Naruto 462 Review is Team Sasuke vs. Team Raikage, while Madara badmouths Sasuke in front of Naruto.

Why would you think your hand would work if your sword didn't?

Summary:
Raikage crushes Jugo into a wall. Nearby, Zengetsu catches Shi napping and moves in for a sneak attack, but he is blocked by Darui. Meanwhile, Raikage thinks he has defeated Jugo, but Jugo conjures up a bunch of beam cannons and fires at point blank range. Shi and Darui wonder if their leader is okay, but Shi gets hit by Sasuke's genjutsu and cannot move. Jugo thinks that he defeated the Raikage, but the Raikage suddenly returns and hammers him with an elbow.

At the snowy village, Madara tells the Konoha ninjas that after hearing about Itachi's story, Sasuke chose the path of revenge instead of following Itachi's wishes to protect the village. Madara explains that hate is the destiny of the Uchiha, and he gives some history lesson about how the Uchiha were the descendants of the elder son of the Rikudo sage and the Senju were the descendants of the younger son. The older son believed that might is the key to peace while the younger believed that love was the key. The Sage chose the younger son as his successor, but the elder son thinks he should have been chosen and ever since the Senju and Uchiha have been in conflict. Madara notes that Naruto has the blood of the Senju and states that Naruto and Sasuke have been chosen by fate to battle again.

Back on the summit grounds, Sasuke tries to attack Raikage behind but his chakra blade is bounced away by Raikage's energy. Sasuke then charges at Raikage with a Chidori, and Raikage gets ready to meet Sasuke head on.

This week's chapter is a mix between the fight between Team Sasuke and Team Raikage and story time by Madara. The storytelling wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, mainly because the segment only took up half of the chapter. On top of that Madara revealed some interesting background info on the Uchiha and the Senju and how Sasuke and Naruto represent the two feuding groups. The story seems to be setting up a final fight between Naruto and Sasuke, which is fine by my books. Hopefully this will get Naruto to stop grovelling.

As for the fight, Jugo showed some interesting moves, but ultimately he wasn't a match for the supercharged Raikage. Raikage is so fast that Sasuke can't really read his moves with the Sharingan, and Raikage has a lot of defense as well. I doubt Sasuke's Chidori would work since the Raikage bounced Sasuke's chakra blade away so easily. It's probably time again for some Amateratsu or Tsukuyomi eye hacks.
